Abyssal Audio does not use advertising pixels, behavioral advertising, or general product-usage telemetry. We collect only what is needed to deliver, license, secure, and support the products.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy describes how Abyssal Audio collects, uses, shares, and retains personal data when you visit abyssalaudio.com, purchase or trial a product, activate Software, or contact support.
Abyssal Audio is the controller of personal data it receives and determines how to use. Independent providers such as Lemon Squeezy may act as separate controllers for their own services.
2. Website and security data
The Abyssal Audio website does not use advertising pixels, behavioral advertising, or Abyssal-managed audience analytics. Abyssal Audio does not set marketing cookies.
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and may process ordinary request and security data such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, and security events. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies or similar mechanisms for security and service delivery under its own policies.
3. Purchase and license data
Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record and may collect your name, email address, billing address, country, payment information, tax information, and transaction details. Abyssal Audio may receive order identifiers, customer contact information, product and variant, payment or refund status, and issued license information.
Abyssal Audio does not receive or store your full payment-card number. Payment processing is governed by Lemon Squeezy’s terms and privacy policy.
4. Activation data
To validate a license and enforce activation limits, Abyssal Audio may process the license identifier, product and version, activation status, activation and deactivation timestamps, operating system, and a one-way hashed device identifier.
The licensing and security infrastructure may temporarily process an IP address in request or abuse-prevention logs. Abyssal Audio does not use activation data to build an advertising profile.
5. Support communications
When you contact support, Abyssal Audio receives your email address and the information you choose to provide, which may include order details, product and version, system configuration, screenshots, recordings, attachments, and message history.
Support email is handled through Proton. Do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, or unnecessary personal data.
6. What the Software does not collect
Abyssal Audio does not collect your audio, recordings, DAW projects, track names, preset values, plugin parameter movements, MIDI, or other creative content through ordinary product use.
The Software does not send general usage telemetry or behavioral analytics to Abyssal Audio. If optional diagnostics or crash reporting are introduced later, this policy and the product interface will be updated before that collection begins.
7. Why data is used
Abyssal Audio uses personal data to deliver purchases and trials, issue and validate licenses, manage activations, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, secure the website and services, maintain transaction and entitlement records, comply with law, and establish or defend legal rights.
Where applicable, the legal bases are performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, Abyssal Audio’s legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and consent when the law requires it.
9. Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining a valid license and purchase history, responding to support, preventing abuse, satisfying tax or accounting obligations, and resolving disputes.
Retention periods vary by record type and legal requirement. Data may be deleted, anonymized, or isolated when it is no longer reasonably needed.
10. International processing
Abyssal Audio is based in Texas, United States. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different privacy laws from your home jurisdiction.
Where required, Abyssal Audio and its providers use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.
11. Security
Abyssal Audio uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data. No internet transmission, storage system, or security control can guarantee absolute security.
If you believe a license, account, or communication has been compromised, contact support@abyssalaudio.com.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to appeal a denied privacy request or complain to a regulator.
Abyssal Audio does not sell personal data, use targeted advertising, or perform profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Send a privacy request to support@abyssalaudio.com. Abyssal Audio may need to verify your identity and may retain information when required for tax, fraud prevention, security, license records, legal claims, or another lawful exception.
13. Children
The website and Software are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. Abyssal Audio does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact support@abyssalaudio.com so it can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
14. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in products, providers, data practices, or law. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated when required by law.
Questions or privacy requests may be sent to support@abyssalaudio.com.
